This position is responsible for maintaining non-paved roads within Pierce County. Qualified applicants must have 2-3 years of experience, be 18 years of age or older, and have a valid license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record. This position is responsible for performing the more routine technical work in the appraisal of real estate and/or personal property for tax assessment purposes. Qualified applicants must be able to complete an Appraiser 1 examination following 6 months of on-the-job training, be 21 years of age or older, and have a valid license. This position is responsible for performing clerical and record-keeping duties for the Magistrate Court. Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent supplemented by one year of related work experience, be 18 years of age or older, and have a valid license.

The Finance Director will oversee financial operations to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate operations for the Pierce County Board of Commissioners. Qualified applicants must meet the following criteria: Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Preference will be given to applicants who are Certified Professional Accountants; have A minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional accounting position; have Fluency in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets; and possess a valid driver’s license. Additionally, all applicants are required to pass a pre-employment background and drug screening. Hiring range: $51,950 – $62,000.

About Pierce County

Pierce County, established in 1857 and named for President Franklin Pierce, grew out of Appling and Ware counties' lands.
The county seat, Blackshear, bears the name of General David Blackshear who fought Indians in Georgia and Florida during the War of 1812.
