We are pleased that you are interested in working for Pierce County Government. Currently we are one of Pierce County’s largest employers. Full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions are available. If you are interested in applying for a position with the County, you may pick up an application at the Department of Human Resources located at 312 Nichols Street, Suite 7, Blackshear, GA, during regular business hours. Applications are required for positions in which you may be interested. Applications must be received in the Department of Human Resources no later than the advertised closing date for a position. Applicants selected for interviews will be contacted by the Department of Human Resources after the specified closing date. Applicants not scheduled for an interview may be notified by e-mail concerning the status of their application or the county online career center . If you are selected for employment, you will be required to present proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. The Department of Human Resources will answer any additional questions you may have or will provide any special instructions which may be appropriate to a particular position.

About Pierce County

Pierce County, established in 1857 and named for President Franklin Pierce, grew out of Appling and Ware counties' lands.
The county seat, Blackshear, bears the name of General David Blackshear who fought Indians in Georgia and Florida during the War of 1812.
