“Appointed for fixed terms by the County Commission, the Board of Assessors is responsible for determining taxability; the appraisal, assessment, and the equalization of all assessments within the county. They notify taxpayers when changes are made to the value of the property; they receive and review all appeals filed; and they ensure that the appeal process proceeds properly. In addition, they approve all exemptions claimed by the taxpayer.”

Each meeting will begin at 9:00 AM.
Any changes to this schedule will be posted within twenty-four hours prior to the meeting.

About Pierce County
Pierce County, established in 1857 and named for President Franklin Pierce, grew out of Appling and Ware counties' lands.
The county seat, Blackshear, bears the name of General David Blackshear who fought Indians in Georgia and Florida during the War of 1812.
