NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
PUBLIC HEARING
The PIERCE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS has tentatively adopted a 2025 millage rate, which will require an increase in property tax by 19.98% for unincorporated and 20.20% for incorporated areas.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on the tax increase to be held at the NFC Building; 705 College Ave. Blackshear, Ga. 31516 November 6, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.
Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the NFC Building; 705 College Ave. Blackshear, Ga. 31516 on November 6, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. November 13, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 11.241 mills, an increase of 1.872 mills. Without this tentative increase, the millage rate will be no more than 9.369 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $71.14, and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $74.88.
